For my design project, there are unsolved existing problems which are the major content will be delivered with pre-recorded videos and the learners have no chance of face-to-face interaction with the instructors. My client and I have discussed about the limitation and both agree with the current plan for the learning expectations, the activities and timeline. We are planning to implement this training for next school year; therefore, we still have some time to discuss the assessment and evaluation. For peer reflection, I think it takes some time for classmates to understand my project and give feedback.

Week 5 Acitivity
My blog partner Lorri responded my blog post with a clarification of the relationship of Analysis and Design which is the “what” and “how” and she also reminded me the Spiral Model from our textbook which combines analysis and Design stages into Define phase. Beth, the course instructor, gave a positive comment on my project. The combined responses seem indicate my work is coming together fine. The changes I have made mostly are based on the weekly course instruction. With the help of learning module guidelines and discussion forum, I have been able to reform my learning goals and objectives and develop corresponding activities, assessment, evaluation and timeline.
It is a positive learning process for me through the input from peers and instructor which helped me clarify my prior and new obtained knowledge. The weekly instruction design reexamination also helps me a lot to create a concise plan.

Analysis and Design
For me, analysis and design are closely related in the whole instruction process. In ADDIE model, analysis is in the first phase of process because it is the base of the whole. An instruction or training program may get involved with a wide range of audience of different ages and different background with various needs and desired goals. A descent design must take into account a wide range of information gathered during analysis. Without analysis aimed at a target population and setting certain objectives for existing problem-solving soultions, instruction design is prone to fail.
The Information R/Evolution by Michael Wesch gave a general picture of the change of the ways we find, store, create, critique, and share information. The video suggested we have to rethink information from different point of view which concept fits the needs for analysis well, in my humble opinion. With all gathered information in hand for analysis, it requires expertise and various perspective considerations to design an in-depth, effective and efficient plan.

Analysis of Two Videos
How useful is video for analysis?
Video can be a very useful tool for analysis. It is powerful for data collection and can interpret the messages more precisely than any other methodologies like note taking, audio recording, interview or observation…etc. Video can also combine the elements of graphics, animation, texts, music, sound effects to enrich the content and hold the viewers’ interest for more effective and efficient learning.
Does each employ a form of analysis? How why? What would you design with the findings from some of these analysis?
The Machine is Us/ing Us by Michael Wesch is an outstanding, well produced and powerful video demonstrating the impacts that tech tools have had on our life. I wouldn’t think Mr. Wesch’s video employed any form of analysis. According to Allison Rossett & Kendra Sheldon (2001), analysis is the study we do in order to figure out what to do. The Machine is Us/ing us did make its points that web 2.0 could be used in flexible formats by anyone and occurred anywhere. However, it didn’t apply the mechanisms that we can use to analyze learning and come up with some suggestions for further learning.
Bigfoot- Sasquatch evidence analysis, as its title suggested, it is a type of analysis. It analyzed on collected evidences to prove the existence of Sasquatch. Although some of interviewees in the video debated credibility of the evidences, the debate of the proofs could be a critical learning for viewers. It would be a good practice for my instructional design by applying the analysis from different perspectives.
